Every year the Sunset Hills Education Foundation fulfills its mission by raising money to support Sunset Hills Elementary School and programs that support our Seagull students. Our funding covers essential staffing, programs, materials/technology, campus improvements, teacher/staff support, the Sunset Hills PTA, and more. Many times it covers costs that the district/state does not provide. We thank you for your support.

IMPACT TEachers

Sunset Hills’ two credentialed IMPACT Teachers help in key areas of learning, including math, reading, and writing. Sunset Hills Education Foundation is proud to fully fund the hiring of these teachers to help all of our students and teachers.

STEM Program

Sunset Hills’ state-of-the-art STEM Program, under the direction of Ms. Sierra Allard, gives fun and engaging experiences for students to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math. Students often work collaboratively using different forms of low and hi-tech equipment, such as recyclable materials, Keva blocks, Indi robots, Spheros, Osmo, Lego, and much more. Robotics and coding are a part of the interactive education. The Sunset Hills Education Foundation is proud to fully fund this amazing program for all of our students.

ART Program

In our new Art Studio, Mrs. Chelsea Perkins stretches the students imagination and builds their confidence while teaching them skills and techniques in fine art. Painting, sculpting, weaving, block printing, drawing, and more are used. The Sunset Hills Education Foundation is proud to be able to fully fund this fantastic program for all of our students.

Library

The Sunset Hills Education Foundation consistently support our Library and its programs. Most recently our Green Room Seagull Studio was developed for livestreaming, including the production of the Sunny Seagull News Show as a central communication center for our school. In the morning students are encouraged to participate in the “Mindful Minute.” Library funds were also used to update the library catalog of books, particularly to include titles that reflect the diversity of our school demographics. We also used funds to purchase new furniture, supporting our library as a central hub of activity with hands-on, collaborative projects.
